Although a night rating is not a requirement of either the Private or Commercial licence, it is a great way to improve your overall flying skills. You'll get to experience stunning views of Auckland City at night, itself enough to make getting the rating worthwhile. Depending on the rating you obtain you also gain the advantage of being able to continue flying as darkness arrives if you're late getting somewhere rather than have to land and wait until morning - providing that you're still operating within CAA rules. Your night training will start with some simulated instrument flying during the day, then you'll move on to the basics of taking off, hovering, circuits and landing at night. A night rating can open up additional commercial opportunities for you including frost protection. Call us on (09) 298-1899 or 0508 CHOPPER to discuss options. |
