As well as being fun, gaining a Sling Rating can be as challenging as learning to hover. Sling ratings are a fixed part of the commercial syllabus but are available to PPL pilots as a way to improve skills and accuracy. With sling operations you'll learn to fly with the door off, while you lean out through the opening and look down at the load. Using your peripheral vision to check reference points as you "fly the load", you'll develop the skill to lift and place objects with precision in confined areas.

Flying in our Schweizer 300CBi, we'll teach you about different load configurations, weights and power management.
